New PPA Sway Measure

NeuRA has released a new iPad app that more accurately measures a participant's sway for the PPA / FallScreen.

The app is available for purchase on the Apple App Store. Use of this app requires a PPA swaymeter and stylus. To purchase a PPA sway meter please contact us at fallscreen@neura.edu.au.

The app records not only the maximal AP and ML displacement but the total sway path length as well. The path length is the optimal measure for sway and is the preferred measure for predicting falls risk in older adults.

Welcome to the new Fallscreen website.

NeuRA FallScreen® is an evidenced based fall risk assessment that can accurately identify older people at risk of falls by pinpointing visual, sensation, strength, coordination and balance impairments. It assists therapists and researchers to rapidly identify patients at risk of falls and provide targeted advice for falls prevention.

NeuRA FallScreen® based on Professor Stephen Lord’s Physiological Profile Assessment (PPA). Professor Lord is a Senior Principal Research Fellow at Neuroscience Research Australia in Sydney, Australia. He has more than 30 years experience researching fall risk assessments and fall prevention strategies, and over 300 research publications.

NeuRA FallScreen® contains all the equipment needed to undertake the tests and a site license to use the web-based program to analyze patient data and produce reports. To obtain NeuRA FallScreen® or to find out more, contact us at fallscreen@neura.edu.au.
